My approach

it starts with you

In our conversations we explore what is going on in your life & work. We start with looking inwards in order for you to really get to know yourself and how you operate. What works and what doesn’t any longer? We then take the step outwards: how do you express yourself in your life, what do you have to appropriate for yourself, what can you develop further, what do you have to do?

mind & body

You probably know it, saying ‘yes’ and feeling ‘no’. Often our mind just goes on and we ignore those signals. In our sessions you learn to listen to your body, reflect on what it brings you and how you can use this in your life & work. As a result, you start living as a whole person instead of being a ‘walking head’.

I’m not giving you answers, I’m helping you find your own answers. By questioning you, by focusing your attention on what lies behind your questions and answers. In order for you to improve your own skills and no longer need me for this. With the aim for you to live & work true to who you are.

And… action!

Allowing yourself to learn, including making mistakes, is an important part of a better life. So, during our process we always look at what you can practice, how you can test new behavior. With small and sometimes larger steps you’ll become true to who you are really. The reflection questions/exercises that I email you will support you in this process.

In our research you learn who you truly are and how to express that, both in your private life as in your work. We do this by looking together at what you have to let go of, what you have to stand for, what you have to commit yourself to and how to practice it.

You discover what makes your heart flow, what your talents are and how you can develop yourself further. And you’ll take steps, both small and large.

In short, you learn to live & work with heart and courage.

About me

In my work as a life coach everything dear to me comes together: real encounters with others, growth, creativity and independence.

I learned to take care of myself at a young age, which led to becoming very independent and self-sufficient. It also led to a ‘nice’ career in business, driven by external appreciation and apparent invulnerability, with underneath a lot of hidden feelings and unhappiness. By seeing, feeling and daring to desire and commit to a better life, my life has completely changed.

My education at ITIP, the School for Coaching and Psychology at the UvA, form a basis in my work, but even more so my life experience and desire to continue learning & growing as a person. What stirs me?

I am a happy person when I move, literally and figuratively. Grow, take steps, contribute my talents and develop further, anywhere, with anyone. My starting point is that everything is welcome and every experience can lead to growth.

Together with my husband Steven Somsen I live and work in the center of Rotterdam in an old gymnasium. My husband organises men groups here: <mature-masculinity.com>. We share a love of learning: what is happening, what should we do? As a member of an international group with like-minded people, I’m used to exploring in English too.

With heart and courage

Heart is needed for the connection, for an open attitude. Listening to your heart in order to feel and learn what to do.

Without courage, it can easily stop there. Because Courage is needed to face up to the challenges and daring to go for what is really important to you.

€ 130 incl. VAT voor freelancers.
